Moreover, the best protocol will surely vary depending on the nature of the learning task, particularly being influenced by whether the task involves declarative or procedural memories.

Perhaps hundreds of spacing-effect studies have been done, and there are just too many variables to state a generic optimal protocol.

Your idea of studying again within a day is good. I would add it is probably a good idea to have short reviews every several days. But the point of the Bahrick study is that it is probably a good idea to have an intense study session at a long intervals.Dr. Bill, "Memory Medic"https://www.blogger.com/profile/10057519951340787796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14867039.post-37061263123520768132012-01-18T17:10:52.197-06:002012-01-18T17:10:52.197-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dr. Bill, "Memory Medic"https://www.blogger.com/profile/10057519951340787796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14867039.post-75335489960150922982012-01-18T10:13:07.848-06:002012-01-18T10:13:07.848-06:00Bill, Not sure that I understand the learning inte...Bill, Not sure that I understand the learning intervals mentioned above. For example, the 56 day interval. Is this the same material studied in repetition, 56 days apart? I suspect that I am wrong. I was of the understanding that one is best to review the same material within 24 hours.
Possibly I need sleep?
Thanks
NBNathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083465850789243955noreply@blogger.com
